No idea why everyone isn’t using NatsuLion [aside from its funny name]. It is simple, lightweight perfection.
I’m a fan of Adium, because it’s free/opensource and incorporates ICQ, Jabber, AIM, MSN, and Yahoo! IM. The highly/easily customizable interface is its biggest draw, for me.
For IRC, there’s no beating Colloquy, an opensource IRC/SILC/ICB client that supports plugins and looks great.
Most, if not all, of the new Labs options for Gmail have previously been incorporated in Greasemonkey scripts, which at least shows that they’re paying attention over there. Problem is, most don’t actually offer much that’s interesting or innovative in the way of functionality.
As you will notice, I am going for ULTIMATE WHIMSY. I refuse to change my icons away from Sticker Packs but have started using a bunch of new applications, which are tagged herein.
